The 2025 World Ceramic Tiles Forum (WCTF) brought together ceramic tile industry representatives from around the world for an engaging and forward-looking annual meeting in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, kindly hosted by ASAKI.
The Forum offered a valuable platform for members to exchange views on global trends, national developments, and evolving regulatory frameworks affecting the ceramic tiles and construction sectors.
Discussions covered key topics such as international trade developments, technical barriers to trade, and the continued implementation of harmonised customs classifications. Members also welcomed the strengthened cooperation with ISO TC 189, whose meetings followed the WCTF.
Sustainability, decarbonisation, circularity, and innovation were at the heart of this year’s exchanges. Participants reflected on emerging policies worldwide and ongoing standardisation work supporting full-lifecycle approaches in the sector.
The Forum reaffirmed the importance of highlighting the strengths of ceramic tiles — including durability, circularity, energy efficiency and safety.
The WCTF community now looks ahead to the next edition, which will take place in the Americas in November 2026.
